Our Summer Associate Program is our primary method of hiring entry level attorneys. The program is designed to provide each summer associate with an opportunity to work closely with WMPJ attorneys in our many different practice areas. This allows us to get to know each associate by working directly with her/him on a daily basis to allow us to see and understand the work, attitude, enthusiasm, personality, and judgment of each clerk.
Our goal is to involve summer associates in many areas of practice and to expose them to the day-to-day aspects of our legal practice. Summer associates typically have the opportunity to attend hearings and depositions, draft memorandum, motions, and pleadings, as well as attend hearings and trials. Each summer associate will work closely with a mentor to guide them through the summer experience.
We also are proud of the communities in which we live and practice law. An integral part of our program is providing social opportunities to permit our summer associates to get to know us and our families outside of the office and to know the community. Our summer associates are invited to business and community events, such as: dinners, happy hours, firm outings, golf outings, and other events throughout the summer.
While we typically conduct on-campus interviews of second year law students at regional law schools, we also consider resumes from candidates across the country. If you are interested in applying for the summer associate program, please submit the requested information through this site.
