Lucas M. Brainerd
Mr. Brainerd earned his law degree from the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned an M.A. degree from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom in 2007. Mr. Brainerd’s undergraduate degree is from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where he was a four-year letter winner on the Viking’s track and field team.
Experience, Bar Admissions & Associations
Mr. Brainerd is a member of the Illinois and Georgia bar associations. Before returning home to Illinois, Mr. Brainerd served the State of Georgia as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting felony and misdemeanor criminal offenses. Since 2015, Mr. Brainerd has represented the State of Georgia in over a dozen criminal jury trials, ranging from DUI to narcotics trafficking and armed robbery. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Brainerd also represented the State of Georgia in multiple cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals. Mr. Brainerd brings his litigation experience to WMPJ, where he is a member of the firm’s civil litigation team.
Mr. Brainerd is a member of the Whiteside County Bar Association and serves as a member of the Sinnissippi Centers, Inc. board of directors.
Mr. Brainerd is a native of Dixon, Illinois; he graduated from Dixon High School in 1999. He now resides in Dixon and will be working primarily out of our Sterling office.
