Ole B. Pace III of Ward, Murray, Pace & Johnson, P.C. was installed as president-elect of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) at the organization's Annual Meeting.

Pace was elected third vice president in 2001 and held the office of second vice president before assuming his current position. He will become ISBA president in June 2004.

The 35,000-member ISBA, with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to Illinois lawyers, and education and services to the public.

Pace is a partner in Ward, Murray, Pace & Johnson, P.C., where he concentrates in state and federal civil litigation, employment law, and school law.

Active in the leadership of the ISBA for ten years, Pace was elected simultaneously to its Board of Governors and Assembly in 1994, and as board secretary in 1999. A member of numerous ISBA committees over the years, he currently chairs its Scope & Correlation Committee.

A member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates, Pace is also vice president and a trustee of the Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois. He has been chosen for inclusion in “Best Lawyers in America.”

Pace has served as president of the Whiteside County Bar Association, of the Greater Sterling Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and of Sinnissippi Mental Health Center. He serves on the community board of U.S. Bank in Sterling, Rock Falls, and Dixon.

Pace did his undergraduate work at Dartmouth College and Illinois Wesleyan University. He received his law degree from the University of Illinois, where he was an editor of the law review, and was elected to the national honorary society, Order of the Coif.
