Ms. Treviranus earned her law degree from Northern Illinois University in 1987, where she was a member of Delta Theta Phi and graduated magna cum laude. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois (Pharmacy) in 1979.

Ms. Treviranus was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1987. She is also admitted to the United States District Court - Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. She is a member of the Illinois State, Whiteside County, Lee County, and Winnebago County (bankruptcy section) bar associations. In addition, she is a member of the Illinois Creditors Bar Association.
Ms. Treviranus was a member of the Northern Illinois Law Review, 1986-87, as well as the Northern Illinois Moot Court and National Moot Court Teams. She is a Registered Pharmacist, Illinois, 1979.
