Mr. Murray earned his LL.B. from the University of Illinois in 1960. He attended Trinity College and earned his B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1957. Bar Admissions & Associations
Mr. Murray was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1960. He is also admitted to the United States District Court - Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the American, Illinois State, and Whiteside County bar associations. Mr. Murray has been deeply involved with State of Illinois activities, including the Illinois State Board of Elections (member, 1985-present; Vice Chair, 1991-93; Chair, 1993-96) and the Illinois Board of Regents – Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, Sangamon State University (member, 1972-85; Chair, 1977-85); and the Illinois Board of Higher Education (1977-85). He has also been involved with numerous Sterling community activities. Mr. Murray has served in various capacities within the Illinois State Bar Association (Board of Governors, 1971-80; Assembly, 1974-80; Chairman, Long Range Planning Committee, 1982-83; ISBA School Law Section Council, 1986-94, Chairman, 1992; Labor and Employment Section Council, 1994-2004) and the American Bar Association (Delegate, House of Delegates, 1979-83). He has also served on the Board of Directors of Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund (1977-present) and the Illinois Council of School Attorneys (Exec. Committee, 1991-99; Chair, 1993-94). Mr. Murray was named Distinguished Graduate for 2000-2001 by the University of Illinois College of Law.
